With recent advancements in the petroleum industry, need for multiphase pumps to transport products, such as product of oil, water, and natural gas, arises along with their challenges. A helico-axial pump should be capable converting fluid kinetic energy into pressure by avoiding gas–liquid separation gas-locking phenomenon, enabling smooth operation at higher gas volume fractions. In this paper, erosion on a is evaluated different flow conditions using sand particles mixed water. very important practical finding investigation that rate increased when deviated from design point 3600 RPM. Operating off-design not only reduced its hydraulic efficiency but also rates hence reduces life. It was observed 4800 RPM, decreased 11% 80%. This increase attributed formation local vortices upstream blade leading edge affecting particle path increasing impact surface.
